Abstract

Mankind is faced with a seemingly insoluble and catastrophic dilemma: war, in the form of nuclear annihilation, leads to human extinction; peace, with its growing destruction of our environment, also threatens our existence. If neither war nor peace offers a valid solution, does this signal the end of human history?
