Abstract

Kant's remarks on "truth" are sparse, and have given rise to questions such as whether he advocated a correspondence or a coherence theory of truth. There is one paragraph, however, in the introductory sections of the part on "Transcendental Logic" in the Critique of Pure Reason, which has given rise to conflicting interpretations. Some of the issues this paragraph raises concern the relation between formal and transcendental logic and the place of "truth" in each. I will begin by focusing upon this text.
