Abstract
This chapter is devoted to a consideration of the philosophy of Martin Heidegger in the context of the Gigantomachy, in particular, Heidegger's attempt at a "third way" between materialism and idealism. The chapter highlights specifically three majors essays of Heidegger: What is Metaphysics? (1929), The Question Concerning Technology (1954), and The Origin of the Work of Art (1935). I argue that Heidegger's middle position in the Gigantomachy concerns a reconsideration by Heidegger of Platonic methexis (participation), but ultimately fails as a viable alternative to either position in the Gigantomachy.
