Abstract

These notes arise from a concern over the extent to which the apparatus of film and television is suited to the needs of different cultures and traditions of representation. They are equally linked to policy issues raised by transcultural consumption, the reproduction of material outside the framework of its host culture and environment, alongside the practice of production for international markets.
