Quantum mechanics and nonlocality
the EPR argument reconsidered
pp. 305-314
in: Claudio Garola, Arcangelo Rossi (eds), The foundations of quantum mechanics, Berlin, Springer, 1995Abstract
We analyze the consequences of the nonlocal aspects of quantum mechanics as far as the possibility of attributing objective properties to individual physical systems is concerned. We reconsider the argument of the celebrated EPR paper with reference to a relativistic context and we show that, while the conclusion that quantum strict correlations and locality imply incompleteness is correct, the common further conclusion that requiring completeness implies the acceptance of some spooky action at a distance is inappropriate.
