Abstract

Computers have been used to visualise reality in an accurate manner and to determine complex dynamics such as generative algorithmic code,1 mimicking reality as authentically as possible. The Synthetic Sun project addresses simulacra2 as an artificial environment whereby the choreographing of natural and simulated light projections through and around a scheme attempts to convince us of the space's reality, which in turn allows us to appropriate the space. To be able to understand appropriation, we must ask not only what is real but what the truth is.
