Abstract

Phenomenology has been an important movement of thought at Duquesne University for many decades, especially in the Psychology and Philosophy Departments, but also in the Departments of Theology and Communication and Rhetorical Studies. The Simon Silverman Phenomenology Center was founded in 1980 as an expression and embodiment of Duquesne's commitment to phenomenology. This chapter thus focusses on the history of phenomenology at Duquesne and the Silverman Center and also looks to the future of phenomenology at Duquesne and the Silverman Center.
