Abstract

Some collections with discrete studies by scholars who represent a variety of disciplines induce readers to search out those chapters that till familiar soil. In such cases it is often unrewarding to guess why such congeries of contributions are bound together into one book. This cannot be said of Volume II of the Series Wissenschaftliche Weltauffassung and Kunst of the Institut Wiener Kreis on Philosophie, Literatur and Musik im Orchester der Wissenschaften, edited by Kurt Blaukopf. The editor obviously inspired his authors to contribute texts that support one another as would the members of an orchestra whose individual sounds continue to reverberate after the last downbeat of the conductor.
