

Some results of investigation of the syllogism and their philosophical consequences

Investigation of the classical system of the categorical syllogism has produced in the last ten years very fruitful results, thanks to the introduction of the highly polished tools offered by the modern logical calculus. Since definitive answers to most of the important questions have been obtained, research at this point even appears to have been concluded. Therefore, in the following, the most important results will be sketched and their ontological consequences illuminated.
