Abstract

The foregoing chapters and appendices comprise the first part of three. In the last complete revision of the entire treatise, summarizing captions, corresponding to the marginal summaries of this volume, were annexed throughout. This appendix brings those captions together in order as a summary of the expected contents of Parts II and III. What follows will have to suffice as text for the advance references scattered across this volume, and may incidentally give interested readers some idea of where I am going. Since I cannot anticipate all of the revisions I may have to make in preparing Parts II and III for publication, these "contents' are only provisional.
