Abstract

Although much work has been done on Kant's philosophy of history, it seems to me that there remain many points to be reconsidered regarding its relation to his whole system of critical philosophy, especially to his practical philosophy. The problem is all the more complicated, because in Kant's philosophical thought the philosophy of history is not fully integrated into the system of his critical philosophy. I will discuss the following points, mainly from the perspective of the interpretation of some aspects of the Kant-Herder controversy on the philosophy of history.
