Abstract

The practice of environment and behavior¹ is distinguished by its aim to understand and improve the relationship between people and their places. Practice in this chapter describes collective human activities that share aims, locations, and methods of work. In this sense, the work of the academy, the activity of expert discourse, and the design, making, and maintaining of places all constitute the practice of environment and behavior.
