Abstract

As the world grows smaller with the impact of cheaper travel and the Internet opening up curiosity and exploration of ways of living across the globe, ideas from many different cultures are cross-fertilizing. This is happening in ways that are interesting, as well as worrying; deep, as well as superficial; creative, as well as destructive. The buzz of information can be overwhelming, and the resultant living experience can end up being a muddled multitude of fragmented knowledge insufficiently digested or integrated. We are in the midst of such a significant technological revolution that it is often hard to tell the wood from the trees; to discern what is helpful and worthwhile, and what is a distraction from the path we are trying to travel in life.
