Abstract

The previous chapters investigated what it means to pursue philosophical research and provided a brief view of Marcel's understanding of subjectivity and person. The subject of the present chapter will be an inquiry into some aspects of the meaning of truth in its relation to these earlier discussions. For a study of man's approach to God such an investigation is called for by the fact that the believer holds himself to be within the bounds of truth in his belief. The truth of his belief is, in his own experience, powerful in that it frequently calls the believer to a life of total commitment.
