Abstract

The task of this article is to develop Merleau-Ponty’s reading of Freud in the lesser known courses at Le College de France of 1954–1955 – Institution and Passivity – towards a new phenomenology of event, based on Merleau-Ponty’s conception of intercorporality and his “metaphysics” of sexuality; a conception that links together Freud and Mélanie Klein’s works on embodiment.
